Welcome — what is this system?

This is a computer system that helps the MSWDO office of Margosatubig keep track of every person they help. Like a giant notebook — but better, because it never gets lost, never gets wet, and finds people in two seconds.

  • Who uses it:
  • New staff
  • Volunteers
  • Anyone curious

How to operate

  1. 1

    What is MSWDO?

MSWDO means City Social Welfare and Development Office. It is the office in the city hall that helps people in need — Lolos and Lolas, persons with disability, single moms and dads, families hit by typhoon, and many more.

  2. 2

    What does the office do?

They give cash assistance for hospital bills and burials. They make ID cards for senior citizens, persons with disability, and solo parents. They give monthly small amounts to very poor seniors and solo parents. They run livelihood programs for women.

  3. 3

    Why a computer system?

Before, every record was on paper. Paper gets lost, ink fades, you have to dig through boxes. With this system, every paper is also stored in the computer — so any staff can find a record in seconds, even from last year.

  4. 4

    Who can use it?

Only MSWDO staff who have a username and password. The Mayor, COA auditors, and DSWD field office can see reports. Regular residents do not have logins — they walk in and the staff helps them.

  5. 5

    Is it safe?

Yes. Every login, every search, every change is logged with a name and a time. Sensitive information (like ID numbers) is scrambled inside the computer so even if someone steals the file, they cannot read it.

  6. 6

    How do I learn it?

Read the next guide — "A day at MSWDO". It walks you through what happens when Lola Maria comes in for help, step by step. After that, every other guide makes sense.

Tips

  • Take your time. Click around. You cannot break anything — every change is reversible by an OIC or admin.
  • When in doubt, search. The big search box at the top of any page finds anyone in 2 seconds.
  • If you see a word you do not understand, hover over it — most words have a small explanation that pops up.

Common mistakes

  • Do not share your password, even with a co-worker. If they need access, they get their own login.
  • Do not leave the computer unattended while logged in. Lock the screen with the Windows + L key when you step away.
